Truguard enjoys successful debut at IFSEC

TruGuard was recently promoted at IFSEC 2018, Europe's largest and long established security exhibition held annually at ExCeL London. Reaching out to a large target market in one go, IFSEC proved to be an effective marketing platform for TruGuard, improving product awareness and generating a significant number of enquiries.

While IFSEC was our first exhibition for the TruGuard product, exhibitions have long played a vital role in the marketing mix of Blackburns Metals, the manufacturer of TruGuard, combing mass reach, targeting, direct selling and networking to engage with customers and prospects alike.

Shows create a unique environment bringing buyers and sellers together in a single location. A shop window for our product, we had great conversations with resellers, installers and the security professionals of brands with multi-site operations that they were looking to protect.

The benefits of TruGuard over barbed wire, razor wire, fence spikes and other injurious spike products which can form mantraps and therefore, can be in contravention of legislation such as The Occupiers' Liability Act 1984 and The Highways Act 1980 were not lost on those customers in our home market with the brands and local authorities that visited us in particular, clearly understanding their responsibilities to those people on their sites, whether invited or otherwise.

A further benefit not lost on any of our visitors, from both the UK and overseas, was the deterrent effect of the product, albeit with some considerable interest in the polyester powder coated options to provide a more subtle security solution.
